WEBSITE BUILD · LEAD GENERATION

A clearer story for Sandown Engineering

Client: Sandown Engineering Solutions

Project type: Website strategy, messaging, design and build, lead qualification and sales support

Sector: Engineering and manufacturing lead generation

Overview

Sandown Engineering Solutions provides lead generation support to engineering and manufacturing businesses, from identifying target companies and decision-makers through to email and LinkedIn outreach, response management and qualification.

The business needed a website that could do more than explain that service.

Because prospects reached through outbound activity were likely to check Sandown online before responding, the website needed to support the sales process itself. It had to explain the offer quickly, show how the service worked, provide proof and give different types of prospects a clear next step.

Nebula developed the site around that commercial requirement.

The challenge

Lead generation is easy to describe badly. Terms such as prospecting, outreach, qualification and campaign management may be familiar to people working in sales, but they do not automatically tell a potential client what they are buying or why they need external support.

Sandown therefore had several questions to answer on its own website:

  • What exactly does the company provide?

  • Which businesses is the service designed for?

  • How does the process work?

  • What happens to a lead after initial contact?

  • How is the service different from simply buying contact data or outreach software?

  • What does it cost?

  • What evidence supports the offer?

  • What should an interested company do next?

The challenge was not simply to produce a better-looking website. It was to turn the service into a clearer buying proposition.

What we changed

Nebula developed the website structure, copy and visitor flow around the questions a potential client would need answered before speaking to Sandown.

The project included:

  • Homepage

  • About page

  • How It Works page

  • Pricing page

  • Contact page

  • Growth Readiness Survey

  • Eligibility Quiz

  • Supporting policy pages

  • Desktop, tablet and mobile layouts

Rather than treating every page as a separate piece of content, the site was planned as a connected sales system.

A visitor could first understand the offer, see how delivery works, review proof and pricing, check whether the service is suitable and then choose an appropriate next action.

What we built

One page, four jobs: frame the problem, show the process, prove the results.

  • Positioning hero

  • The gaps, named

  • Six-step process

  • Live campaign proof

Making a complex service easier to understand

One priority was explaining what happens behind a lead generation campaign.

Sandown's work involves more than providing a database of names. It includes defining the target audience, identifying relevant companies and people, outreach, monitoring responses, qualification and passing suitable opportunities to the client.

The website therefore presents the service as a clear process instead of relying on broad claims about generating leads.

This gives a potential client a better basis for comparing Sandown with software-only services, contact databases or other outsourced sales options.

Using proof in the sales process

The website also needed evidence.

Rather than relying only on statements about campaign performance, Sandown now shows a live campaign example covering a 21-day period.

The published example includes:

  • 292 potential prospects identified

  • 282 prospects contacted

  • 70% engagement

  • 6% reply rate

  • 1% bounce rate

The site had to carry real numbers, not claims.

The figures are presented as an example rather than a promise of future performance. Results can vary according to the sector, target audience and offer.

That distinction matters. Good marketing proof should help a buyer assess a service without turning one previous result into an unsupported guarantee.

Building qualification into the website

A standard contact form would have collected basic details, but it would have done little to establish whether a prospect was suitable for Sandown's service.

The new site therefore includes two more useful routes.

Eligibility Quiz

The Eligibility Quiz takes prospects through seven questions designed to establish fit before moving them towards the next stage.

Growth Readiness Survey

The Growth Readiness Survey collects more detailed information about the company and its current position.

These tools give Sandown useful information before a sales discussion takes place, while also helping the prospect think about whether the service fits their own situation.

This makes the forms part of the sales process rather than simply a way of collecting contact details.

Giving prospects more than one next step

Not every website visitor is at the same stage.

Some may already be considering outsourced lead generation. Others may still be comparing options or trying to work out whether their business is ready for it.

The site therefore does not depend on one repeated “Contact Us” button.

Depending on where they are in the decision process, visitors can:

  • understand the service

  • review the process

  • examine campaign proof

  • check pricing

  • complete an eligibility assessment

  • complete a more detailed readiness survey

  • book a conversation

The aim was to make the next action match the visitor's level of interest.

The result

The completed project gave Sandown Engineering Solutions a website built around the way the business sells.

The finished site combines:

  • clearer service positioning

  • a defined visitor flow

  • explanation of the lead generation process

  • real campaign proof

  • transparent pricing information

  • qualification tools

  • stronger calls to action

  • direct booking routes

  • responsive layouts for desktop, tablet and mobile

We are not claiming that the website has produced a specific percentage increase in leads because there is not yet enough post-launch data to support that conclusion.

What can be shown is the change in the sales infrastructure.

Sandown now has a website that can support the prospects generated by its own campaigns rather than acting simply as an online company brochure.

What this project shows

There is a wider point here for engineering and technical SMEs considering outbound sales.

Lead generation does not stop when someone receives an email or LinkedIn message.

A prospect may then check the company website, look for evidence, compare services, assess pricing and decide whether the business appears credible enough to speak to.

That means the website and the lead generation campaign should not be treated as separate projects.

Before increasing outreach, it is worth asking a simple question:

If the right prospect checks your company today, does what they find make the sales conversation easier or harder?

Nebula helps engineering, manufacturing and technical B2B companies improve the messaging, proof, website content and sales assets that prospects see before and after outreach.
